2 <br /> Another meeting was held with the State of North Carolina Emergency Management officials <br /> and the assigned FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer to brief potential assistance applicants on <br /> the application process. Orange County has completed the Request for Public Assistance <br /> (RPA) and the State — Applicant Disaster Assistance Agreement. As part of the process, the <br /> County must adopt a resolution designating an agent to apply for and receive federal <br /> assistance. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The estimated cost to the County related to the ice storm is in excess of <br /> $100,000. Receiving funding from FEMA's Public Assistance Agency would help the County to <br /> recover much of the costs, associated with the winter weather storm. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br /> resolution with the designation of Shari Porterfield (primary agent) and Clarence Grier <br /> (secondary agent) for the federal assistance, and direct the Clerk to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners to sign as the Certifying Official. <br />
