2 <br /> Another meeting was held with the State of North Carolina Emergency Management officials <br /> and the assigned FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer to brief potential assistance applicants on <br /> the application process. Orange County has completed the "Request for Public Assistance <br /> (RPA)." The County must now enter in an agreement with the State to receive federal <br /> assistance. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The estimated cost to the County related to the ice storm is in excess of <br /> $100,000. Receiving funding from FEMA's Public Assistance Agency would help the County to <br /> recover much of the costs associated with the winter weather storm. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the "State — <br /> Applicant Disaster Assistance Agreement" and authorize the Chair to sign the agreement and all <br /> related attachments/documents as necessary. <br />
