Year-To-Date Budget <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2013- <br /> 14. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 1. The Department of Social Services has received additional revenues for the following <br /> programs: <br /> • Child Day Care — receipt of a fourth quarter payment of $324,639 to provide <br /> childcare services and subsidies to low-income families. <br /> • Smart Start Enhancement Program — receipt of a fourth quarter payment of <br /> $185,000 for Smart Start Subsidized Child Care program administration. The <br /> department will pay program funds directly to childcare providers. <br /> • Low Income Energy Administration: Receipt of additional State funds, <br /> totaling $3,435, which will replace broken chairs, throughout the agency. <br /> • Crisis Intervention — receipt of $17,217 in State Allocations to pay for crisis- <br /> related heating needs for Orange County residents. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See Attachment <br /> 1, column 1) <br /> Animal Services Department <br /> 2. Donated funds of $1,200 have been earmarked for Animal Services' use through the <br /> Community Giving Fund.
