27 <br /> 1 Commissioner Price said there is an opportunity to have further input with Triangle Area <br /> 2 Rural Planning Organization (TARPO) through participation in a district 7 meeting on <br /> 3 Wednesday, January 29th from 4-7 pm. <br /> 4 She said the MLK weekend celebrations were very nice this year. <br /> 5 Commissioner Gordon — none <br /> 6 Commissioner McKee said he finally made the MLK event this year in Chapel Hill, and it <br /> 7 was very nice. He has been attending these for years in the northern part of the County, but <br /> 8 this was his first in the southern portion of the County. <br /> 9 Commissioner Dorosin — none <br /> 10 Commissioner Rich referred to the comments on early voting and said there is concern <br /> 11 that the early voting site will not be on campus. She said there are 4 sites being considered <br /> 12 and there is concern with it being moved off campus. She suggested the Board get involved if <br /> 13 they would like to keep it on campus. <br /> 14 Commissioner Pelissier said she celebrated the MLK event in Durham and she cooked <br /> 15 for residents who had not had a hot meal in awhile. She said this was a great service <br /> 16 opportunity for her family. <br /> 17 Commissioner Pelissier congratulated Colleen Bridger for being selected as the North <br /> 18 Carolina Health Director of the Year. <br /> 19 Commissioner Pelissier said, in reference to the jail alternatives work group, there is a <br /> 20 memo at the Commissioner's places that outlines an extension on the report timeline from <br /> 21 March 31 st to the May 13th work session. She said this delay will have no negative impact. She <br /> 22 said it is more important to have a good, properly vetted report. <br /> 23 Chair Jacobs said County staff continues to meet with representatives of the Morinaga <br /> 24 project to move the project forward. He said the Burlington Graham Metropolitan Planning <br /> 25 Organization adopted the access road program as a top priority. He said the plan is still for <br /> 26 Morinaga to be in business by July 1, 2015. <br /> 27 Chair Jacobs said Triangle Transit put together a summary of the Hillsborough train <br /> 28 station project, and he had passed this on to Mr. Tata at the Triangle J meeting. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 13.
