I bring geohydrological perspective, <br />direct volunteer experience as a former CfE member, and institutional memory to commission <br />discussions. I have demonstrated leadership. I can investigate and solve technical problems and <br />have proven written and oral communication skills. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />I want to continue volunteering and working to protect our natural resources. I enjoy debating <br />environmental issues and interaction with fellow commission members.Among the many county <br />advisory boards and commissions, I feel best qualified for service on the CfE. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />Supplemental Questions: <br />Work Experience: Extensive research (Univ. of Texas at Austin Bur. Economic Geology) <br />and industry experience (Exxon) in energy resources, especially coal and natural gas. <br />Hydrogeologic and geochemical skills for environmental studies e.g., coal gasification, <br />high -level radioactive waste, mined lands, oil -field waste, geophysical - log analysis, <br />ground -water flow patterns, aquifer architecture and gravity. Proven written and oral <br />communication skills. <br />Volunteer Experience: Volunteered on a regular basis with the Heart of Texas Peace <br />Corps Association serving two varieties of public agencies and non - profit groups, e.g. <br />Safe Place, Wild Basin, AIDS Services, Food Bank, Hornsby Bend, Mayfield Park, Tree <br />Folks, Lower Colo. R. Authority, etc. Peace Corps Volunteer (1963 -65); Ghana, W. Africa, <br />assigned to Ghana Geological Survey. <br />Education: The Johns Hopkins University, Ph.D. Geology. University of Wisconsin - <br />Madison, M.S.
