The funding is mandated by NC General Statute 161 -11.3 which requires all Counties to reserve ten percent of revenues collected and retained by the County in a nonreverting Automation Enhancement and Preservation Fund. The proceeds shall be expended on computers or imaging technology and needs associated with the preservation and storage of public records in the Register of Deeds Office. 30
