Notice Requirements <br />August 13, 2013 - Planning staff <br />informally notified Chapel Hill and <br />Carrboro Planning Directors of work <br />in progress and anticipated AOG <br />item <br />December 5, 2013 - Planning staff <br />notified Chapel Hill and Carrboro <br />Planning Directors of the need for a <br />joint planning public hearing on <br />March 27, 2014 to consider text <br />amendments to the JPA plan and <br />agreement to allow ASE uses in the <br />Rural Buffer <br />Item was included in the legal advertisement for the February quarterly public <br />hearing which was published in The Herald Sun and the News of Orange on <br />February 12 and 19, 2014. <br />e. Outreach: <br />® General Public: Public Information Meeting scheduled for February 13, 2014. <br />Advertised in legal ad, press release, and posted flyers in <br />government buildings and businesses in the county. The <br />press release was published in the print version of the News <br />of Orange on January 29. 2014. <br />❑ Small Area Plan Workgroup: <br />® Other: Planning staff has worked with DEAPR staff and the Agricultural <br />Preservation Board to ensure the "agricultural community" is <br />informed of the amendments. <br />3. FISCAL IMPACT <br />Consideration and approval will not create the need for additional funding for the <br />pp g <br />provision of County services. Costs for the required legal advertisement will be paid <br />from FY2013 -14 Departmental funds budgeted for this purpose. Existing County <br />staff included in Departmental staffing budgets will accomplish the work required to <br />process this amendment. <br />D. AMENDMENT IMPLICATIONS <br />These amendments would allow for appropriate agriculturally - related uses either by right <br />or via a conditional zoning district (ASE -CZ) in the Rural Buffer land use classification, <br />subject to use - specific standards (Article 5) and the general development standards <br />(Article 6) that apply to all development. <br />
