The petitions and responses are listed <br /> below: <br /> 1) Review and consider a request from Commissioner Price that the Board consider a resolution <br /> recognizing St. Paul AME Zion Church on its 150th Anniversary. <br /> Response: Clerk researched similar past Board actions and found sending congratulatory letters <br /> was the course of action taken (instead of resolutions); Chair to send letter of congratulations on <br /> behalf of Board. <br /> 2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Pelissier that the Board receive a report on the <br /> activities and recognize the participants involved with Project EngAGE (a joint program between the <br /> Department on Aging and the UNC School of Public Health Capstone team, in which they are hosting <br /> a 13 week leadership program called Project EngAGE for 15 senior citizens). <br /> Response:A recognition is to be planned, at the completion of Project EngAGE, at a future BOCC <br /> board meeting. <br /> This letter will be provided as an Information Item on the February 18, 2014 agenda for public <br /> information. <br /> Best, <br /> Barry Jacobs, Chair <br /> Board of County Commissioners <br /> www.orangecountync.pov <br /> Protecting and preserving—People, Resources, Quality of Life <br /> Orange County, North Carolina—You Count.! <br /> (919)245-2130• FAX(919)644-0246 <br />
