The Department of Social Services has received funding notification of Child Welfare <br />State In -Home Aid totaling $38,926. The aid will fund overtime for staff that provide <br />services to families with maltreated children or in need of services to address family <br />functioning, following an assessment. The State will allocate funds on a quarterly basis. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 2) <br />Department on Aging <br />4. The Department on Aging has received funding notification and revenue for the following <br />programs: <br />• Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program - receipt of $8,085 from the <br />Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Funds will be used to purchase program supplies <br />and replace IT equipment currently on loan from the IRS. <br />• Senior Lunch Program - a Town of Hillsborough contribution of $1,300, for <br />program operations, at the Central Orange Senior Center. The department will <br />use the funds for catering services. <br />• Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) - additional funds of <br />$1,739 from the NC Department of Insurance to support Orange County's <br />Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds.
