C. Highway 86; thence South 81° 09' East 8,780 feet to a i <br /> point 50 feet East of the center line of State University Railroad; then <br /> in a Northerly direction parallel with the center line of State Universit , <br /> Railroad 3,350 feet; thence North 87° 15, East 23,940 feet to the Durham i <br /> l County line; thence in a Southerly direction along the Durham County and j! <br /> Orange County line 53,750 feet to its intersection.with the Chatham Count <br /> line; thence in a Westerly direction along the Orange County and Chatham t <br /> County line 39,475 feet to the intersection of said County line with the <br /> township line between Chapel Hill and Bingham Township; thence in a <br /> Northerly direction along the Bingham and Chapel Hill Township line IA <br /> 40,425 feet to the point of BEGINNING." <br /> (b) That said petition prays that a recreation district be created within <br /> j the territory described---in said petition, the object proposed to be accomplished by <br /> the creation of such district being the providing of public recreation facilities <br /> in order to preserve and promote the public good and general welfare. <br /> Ek <br /> (c) That said petition further prays that a special election be held <br /> �( within such district for the purpose of voting upon: <br /> l <br /> (i) the issuance of Recreation Facilities Bonds in the amount of <br /> $400,000 for the purpose of providing funds, with any other availably <br /> s; funds, for acquiring, improving and equipping lands and buildings fo4. <br /> parks, playgrounds, recreation centers and other recreational.- J; <br /> facilities, and a tax for the payment of the principal of and the il <br /> interest on such bonds, and <br /> (ii) the levy of an annual tax of not less than three cents nor more thank <br /> ten cents on each $100.00 of assessed valuation of the taxable <br /> property within such district for the provision, establishment, <br /> maintenance and operation of the recreational facilities, the amount�� <br /> of said tax to be set by the Board of County Commissioners within <br /> 1) said range. !i <br /> (d) That the Town of Carrboro is located within the boundaries of such <br /> proposed recreation district. <br /> Section 2. Said petition is hereby approved in all respects and the <br /> Board of Commissioners of the Town of Carrboro hereby requests the Board of <br /> Commissioners for the County of Orange to exercise the authority granted to it by <br /> it <br /> said Chapter 1107 by taking the action requested in said petition. <br /> Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall immediately be certified to <br /> the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange. <br /> 6 <br /> Section 4.
