102 <br /> Employee Communications Goal <br /> The Communications Office will provide employees with information about employee <br /> services,benefits, activities and issues. <br /> Strategy 1 —Provide employees with timely information about benefits, organizational <br /> development, fellow employees, and general County government. <br /> 1. Produce a biweekly publication, Communique, and distribute it to all employees. <br /> 2. Post Communique on MyDesktop, the County government's intranet. <br /> 3. Employ the tools of MyDesktop to get information to employees. <br /> Strategy 2 —Provide employees with the tools they need to perform their jobs through the <br /> intranet. <br /> 1. Work with the Office of Information Technology to ensure that policies and procedures <br /> are available on MyDesktop. <br /> 2. Make templates and instructions for routine County correspondence and memorandums <br /> available on MyDesktop. <br /> 3. Post important dates and deadlines on MyDesktop. <br /> 4. Use Splash pages to catch the attention of employees for new, important, timely <br /> information. <br /> Strategy 3 —Provide employees with emergency information. <br /> 1. Use all sources of media to notify employees of government closings and delayed <br /> openings. <br /> 2. Encourage employees to subscribe to the e-notification system to receive text information <br /> via cell phones, email, and pagers. <br /> 3.
