31 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 9. County Manager's Report <br /> 3 Michael Talbert said he sent out an email today about McDougle Middle School. He <br /> 4 said the parking lot lights are out; therefore the facility will be closing at sunset until the problem <br /> 5 is corrected. He said Duke Power said this could take two weeks. <br /> 6 Commissioner Pelissier asked if this means any families who use this facility will be <br /> 7 affected. <br /> 8 Michael Talbert said some people will not be able to use the facility, but the hazard of a <br /> 9 dark parking lot is too great of a risk. <br /> 10 Commissioner Pelissier asked if these people could be made aware of other space <br /> 11 options. <br /> 12 Michael Talbert said this could be included in the website. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 15 John Roberts said he had a lengthy meeting today with attorneys from Durham County, <br /> 16 TTA and DMV. He said the meeting included the commissioner of the DMV. He said the <br /> 17 commissioner admits the DMV has not collected the full amount of the $7 vehicle registration <br /> 18 tax adopted by the Board last year. <br /> 19 John Roberts said he is waiting for additional information on how much has been lost <br /> 20 and possible options for collection. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 11. Appointments <br /> 23 <br /> 24 a. Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointments <br /> 25 The Board considered making appointments to the Adult Care Home Community <br /> 26 Advisory Committee. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> 29 appoint the following to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee, with term ending <br /> 30 dates: <br /> 31 <br /> 32 - Mr. Daniel Hatley, to position #2 for a second full term, expiring 10/31/2015. <br /> 33 - Dr. Anthony John Vogt, to position #5 for a first full term, expiring 10/31/2015. <br /> 34 (Dr. Vogt completed a one year training term expiring 10/18/2013.) <br /> 35 - Mr. Richard Gross, to position #6 for a third full term, expiring 10/31/2015.** <br /> 36 **Terms for Adult Care Community Advisory Committee are 3 two-year terms. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 39 <br /> 40 b. Advisory Board on Aging —Appointment <br /> 41 The Board considered making an appointment to the Advisory Board on Aging. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> 44 appoint Dr. Jo Anne Wilson to position #10, with an expiration date of 6/30/2016. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 47 <br /> 48 <br /> 49 c. Animal Services Advisory Board (ASAB) —Appointment <br /> 50 The Board considered making an appointment to the Animal Services Advisory Board. <br />
