Petitions by Board Members <br /> 9 Commissioner Pelissier said she had asked earlier this year that the County Manager <br /> 10 and Solid Waste Director meet with the Zero Waste folks. She would like a written report to be <br /> 11 provided regarding the substance of this meeting. <br /> 12 Chair Jacobs noted that there is a report at the end of the agenda regarding the issues <br /> 13 at the Solid Waste Convenience Center (SWCC) at Walnut Grove. He said he would also like a <br /> 14 report from the meeting between the Solid Waste staff and the small waste haulers. <br /> 15 He asked for the addition of an agenda item for a future meeting with both of these <br /> 16 reports on it. <br /> 17 Chair Jacobs said the County used to put plaques in the lobbies of newly constructed <br /> 18 buildings. He said the plaques stated the year the building was built, the names of the seated <br /> 19 Board of County Commissioners, Managers, and the architects involved. He said, for the sake <br /> 20 of posterity, it would be a nice to re-instate this practice as way to memorialize those who were <br /> 21 involved. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 4. Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations <br /> 24 <br /> 25 5. Consent Agenda <br /> 26 e Removal of Any Items from Consent Agenda <br /> 27 <br /> 28 e Approval of Remaining Consent Agenda <br /> 29 A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner McKee to <br /> 30 approve the remaining items on the consent agenda. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 33 <br /> 34 a. Minutes <br /> 35 The Board approved the minutes, with corrections, from June 13, September 5 and September <br /> 36 12, 2013, as submitted by the Clerk to the Board. <br /> 37 b. Motor Vehicle Property Tax Releases/Refunds <br /> 38 The Board adopted a resolution, which is incorporated by reference, to release motor vehicle <br /> 39 property tax values for thirty-eight (38) taxpayers with a total of forty (40) bills that will result in a <br /> 40 reduction of revenue, in accordance with NCGS. <br /> 41 c. Property Tax Releases/Refunds <br /> 42 The Board adopted a resolution, which is incorporated by reference, to release property tax <br /> 43 values for six (6) taxpayers with a total of twenty-one (21) bills that will result in a reduction of <br /> 44 revenue in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 105-381. <br /> 45 d. Applications for Property Tax Exemption/Exclusion <br /> 46 The Board approved five (5) untimely applications for exemption/exclusion from ad valorem <br /> 47 taxation for five (5) bills for the 2013 tax year. <br /> 48 e. Fiscal Year 2013-14 Budget Amendment#2 <br /> 49 The Board approved budget amendments for fiscal year 2013-14 for Department on Aging; <br /> 50 Department of the Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation (DEAPR); Library Services; <br />
