storytelhing and Residency bance <br /> New Hope Elementary: Second Grade <br /> October 2013 <br /> Dear Families: <br /> In collaboration with The ArtsCenter, our class will be participating in a <br /> storytelling, and dance residency that is,linkgd to the,second grade social, studies, <br /> curriculum, specifically how artistic expressions of diverse cultures contribute to <br /> community stories. The residency will be focused around a show we will be <br /> seeing at The ArtsCenter on November 7 — Stories and Songs of Latin America. <br /> Throughout the show, Latin American culture will come alive through puppetry, <br /> music, stories, instruments, and more. <br /> A teaching artist will be coming into our classroom on October 14, 21, 23, <br /> November 4 and 13 to prepare students for the performance at The ArtsCenter, <br /> while simultaneously teaching curriculum through storytelling and dance.
