Each piece illustrates the
interplay of weaving techniques, color and texture to effect surface pattern and dimensionality. I
weave on self-made rigid heddle looms using traditional materials, unrecyclable and salvaged
materials,as well my own handspun and dyed yarns. Often there are many variations within the
same strip weaving, which reduces the total number of full length examples I carry around!
Young students are impressed by animal and human shapes; older students are more interested in
the patterns, color and material preparation.
