i~ (O <br />Minutos of the Hoard of Commissioners <br />Mondag, January 1, 1951 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange met in regular session <br />at 10 o'clock A. tf., fitondag, January 1, 19$1, in the Conunissi oners' Room at the <br />Cossrthouse. Lfembers present Here: Collier Cobb, Jr., Chairmen and A. G. Levis - <br />and Sim L. Efland, Commissioners. . <br />The minutes of the December meetings ware read and approved. <br />!J <br />Chairman Cobb read the Grand Jurg report of the December Term of Sun9rior <br />Court. <br />Ira A. Ward reported that he had made en investigation of the State Aetire <br />Bgstem for County Employees and also Social Securitg. The Social Securi tg <br />appeared to be the better of the two systems. <br />The Board of Education was called in with reference to the proposed build- <br />ing of the Cedar Grove Negro school. They stated that thug had cut several <br />class rooms from the original plans in order to come within the allotted money, <br />but co:.il.d make 4 class rooms from the ell-purpose room by running partitions <br />which would give a total of 12 class rooms. <br />Represen tativo John W. IImstead of Chapel Hill, and Senator Ralph Scott of <br />Burlington npneered and discussed matters pertaining to Orange County that mag <br />be presented to the North Caroline General Assembly. <br />Thera being no further business, upon motion, adjourned. <br />J.
