BUDGET- 2013 - 2014 Fall <br /> Funding for the Coordinator: $12,000-Office of Patient Relations UNC Hospitals (thrilled) <br /> This is for an average of 10 - 15 hours a week. <br /> Funding for Artists,parking,supplies: $10,000 (thrilled - allows 90 visits by artists over <br /> the year. We make it to each location every two months,except for <br /> Psychiatry with the focus this year. <br /> Grants for Artists: Orange County Arts Commission for 15 artists,new focus on dance and <br /> adding to this exciting focus on psychiatry. Attachment of comments by the young patients <br /> from a visit just this past Saturday,November 9, 2013 $1,500 Pending <br /> Grant for Artists: Strowd Roses, Inc. Trying for a repeat grant from this wonderful local <br /> foundation. Again the request will be for artists visits with an interactive focus,visual <br /> artists to make art with patients,musical artists to bring lyrics or sing requests by patients, <br /> literary artists to bring a poem or story to give the patient after the reading,or to write <br /> together. $4,000 Pending <br /> My goal is to have an at least four artists visiting each week of the year. Budget would need <br /> to be: $20,000 plus parking. <br /> Also,wish to increase the funds paid to the Coordinator because I don't know that anyone <br /> would accept what I do. Looking for$21,000 <br /> For a TOTAL: $42,000 <br /> Am about to work with a colleague on fund raising from individuals. Right now, my sister and <br /> brother and friends give most of the donations I receive. Sometimes new members of the UNC <br /> community contribute too! <br /> I hope to write a grant as well to the Kenan Foundation and the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation <br /> before the end of the year. <br />
