Box 8181 <br /> Hillsborough,NC 27278 <br /> Dear Paul: <br /> It is the intent of the Orange Rural Fire Department to purchase a replacement fire engine.The <br /> engine will replace a 1987 LTI.The total amount of the truck is $490,251.67. The Orange Rural <br /> Fire Department has funds set aside from the sale of the 1987 truck in the amount of$58,500 that <br /> will be used to help offset the purchase of the new truck. We will also take$59,000.00 from the <br /> budget that was ear-marked for the new truck purchase.The Orange Rural Fire Department <br /> would also like to request$70,000.00 from our unassigned fund balance to purchase equipment <br /> to help out fit the truck. <br /> We have been pre-approved for a loan in the amount of$375,000 from Communiyt One. The <br /> term of the loan will be five-years with an interest rate of 3.29%. We are also in a USDA grant <br /> process with Piedmont Electric for an interest free loan. If awarded,we would be funded through <br /> the grant process with a zero percent interest. We have been approved for this grant through <br /> Piedmont Electric but are awaiting approval from the USDA.
