2 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Tara Fikes said this grant provided $500,000 in the community for this grant program. <br /> 3 She said a total of$484,000 was expended for this program, leaving $16,000 that was <br /> 4 associated with clearance and relocation costs for the home that withdrew from the program. <br /> 5 Thus, $16,000 from this program will be retained by the State Community Development <br /> 6 Program. <br /> 7 Commissioner Pelissier asked that on targeted homes for reconstruction that did not participate <br /> 8 –was there a listing of back up homes. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Tara Fikes said there were backup homes and they did use funding to repair another <br /> 11 home. They were not able to re-program the other funds. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Commissioner Dorosin said in the future that he would like to see if staff could list all properties <br /> 14 that were rehabilitated and as well as the homes that are listed for urgent repairs. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Commissioner Dorosin said that the house that chose not to not participate in the program was <br /> 17 slated for reconstruction—what will happen to that house now. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Tara Fikes said a family lives there now and they have been working with some church groups <br /> 20 that are trying to help with some of the most urgent needs and repairs. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Commissioner Dorosin said of the 8 homes listed, how were these homes chosen. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Tara Fikes said at the time of the application process, they had to list the homes in need and <br /> 25 they had 8 homes plus an alternate list of about 6 other homes. They do have a waiting list of <br /> 26 about 20 homes that are in need of repair and her department normally maintains a list. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 NO PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> 30 <br /> 31 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich seconded by Commissioner Dorosin to close the <br /> 32 public hearing. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 35 <br /> 36 A motion was made by Commissioner Price seconded by Commissioner Rich to authorize <br /> 37 execution of the Certificate of Completion by the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 40 <br /> 41 <br /> 42 <br /> 43 <br /> 44 <br /> 45 b. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program – Scattered Site Housing <br /> 46 Rehabilitation Program <br /> 47 The Board will conducted a public hearing to receive public comments prior to official close-out <br /> 48 of the County's FY 2010 Community Development (CDBG) Scattered Site Housing <br /> 49 Rehabilitation Program and authorized execution of the Certificate of Completion by the Chair of <br /> 50 the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> 51 <br />
