He said Orange County has <br /> 3 specific interests with this Board. <br /> 4 Commissioner McKee's said his suggestion does not need to rest on just himself. He <br /> 5 said it could be any commissioner. He said his suggestion was based on the fact that the <br /> 6 County contributes heavily to the library and there has been some dissention over issues. She said, at the last QPH, she <br /> 31 noted that there was nothing related to arts and culture. She referred back to the minutes from <br /> 32 the May 14 meeting and realized that the minutes are not very clear about the Board's intention <br /> 33 and direction for staff regarding arts and culture. She has talked to several Board members <br /> 34 and their understanding was that it was requested that arts and culture should be included. <br /> 35 She wants to make sure staff has clear direction. <br /> 36 Chair Jacobs said it would be helpful to have a verbatim transcript of these minutes. <br /> 37 Donna Baker said she could provide the verbatim minutes of this section of the <br /> 38 discussion from the May 14th BOCC work session for clarification to Board members and staff. <br /> 39 Chair Jacobs asked Commissioner Pelissier to update the public on Project Connect, <br /> 40 which will be happening on October 10th <br /> 41 Commissioner Pelissier said she would encourage people to volunteer for Project <br /> 42 Connect. She said this is a great opportunity to get a first hand understanding of what is <br /> 43 happening in the community with the people who are homeless or at risk of becoming <br /> 44 homeless. She said donations are also welcomed, as Project Connect does not use County <br /> 45 money and is funded through donations and run by volunteers. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 13.
