He believes in <br /> planning but it needs to be justified and he noted he did not feel <br /> this could be justified. <br /> Robert Oakes, a resident of Calvander, noted that he has been in <br /> favor of joint planning between Orange County, Chapel Hill and <br /> Carrboro for many years. He referenced the Governor' s Community of <br /> Excellence program and the fact that to participate in that program <br /> there had to be six industrial sites available to offer to those <br /> coming into the community. He stated that this was really the <br /> beginning of the industrial node concept and the present planning <br /> staffs were not involved. He felt it would be better to move the <br /> industrial site to the buffer zone. <br /> John Peraza, Stoneycreek resident, presented a prepared <br /> statement attached to these minutes. <br /> Dan Marnell, Stoney Creek resident, presented a prepared <br /> statement attached to these minutes. <br /> Willhoit was asked about further public hearings. He stated <br /> this matter was being referred back to the respective Planning Boards <br /> and Staffs for study and recommendation. He asked that careful <br /> consideration be given to the timing of the implementation of the <br /> accommodating ordinances.
