9 <br /> AGENDA ITEM#5: DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> a. Completion of national Register Nomination for the Cedar Grove Rural Historic <br /> District <br /> Cameron went over a report in the agenda from Belk. This report provided background <br /> information, summarized actions deadlines, and recommended approaches to completing the <br /> project. This report also contains a draft Request for Proposals, to be used in evaluating <br /> consultants' qualifications to complete the nomination of the Cedar Grove Rural Historic District <br /> to the National Register of Historic Places. <br /> The Commission discussed letting the community know that the Historic Preservation <br /> Commission will be having their September meeting in the community anti.that the funds are <br /> available. <br /> Belk also provided to the Commission a National Register Fact Sheet#5 for their information. <br /> The Commission discussed the next steps for this nomination. They are: <br /> 1. Proceed with completion of the National Register Nomination for the Cedar Grove <br /> Rural Historic District; <br /> 2. Approval of the draft Request for Proposals for consultant selection;and <br /> 3. Conduct the September 1996 meeting of the Commission at a suitable location within <br /> the Cedar Grove crossroads area. <br /> MOTION: Anderson moved to approved the three recommendations. Seconded by <br /> Satterfield. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> b. Rescheduling of the November HPC Meeting <br /> Due to the November 1996 meeting date being the day before Thanksgiving, the Commission <br /> voted to change this meeting date to Tuesday, November 26, 1996. Also, there will be no <br /> December 1996 meeting. <br /> MOTION: Rich moved to move the November meeting date from Wednesday,November 27, <br /> 1996 to Tuesday,November 26, 1996. Seconded by Anderson. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> 2 (Attachment #2) <br />
