Has the Application to release funds been approved? YES EPA GRANT HAS BEEN <br /> APPROVED, BUT THE SRF LOAN IS CONTINGENT UPON US MEETING THE AUGUST 1 <br /> AND SEPTEMBER 1 DEADLINES. <br /> 5. Are plans and specifications available for review? YES, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE <br /> ON FILE FOR INSPECTION IN THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AT 131 W. MARGARET <br /> LANE, SUITE 201, HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278; WITH THE ENGINEERS <br /> IN DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA AT THE ADDRESS LISTED BELOW; AND AT THE <br /> OFFICES OF THE ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS IN RALEIGH, AND <br /> CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA; AND ON-LINE AT THE DODGE PROJECT INTERNET <br /> SITE. <br /> 6. Have all easements been procured? IN PROCESS, WILL BE PROCURED PRIOR TO <br /> NOTICE TO PROCEED <br /> 7. The County is asking for the Construction Administration Engineer indemnify the County and <br /> the original engineer for design. The original designer has designed and professionally <br /> sealed the plans and specifications and has permitted the project through Constriction Grants <br /> and Loan. Is the County trying to absolve the original design engineer of their professional <br /> responsibility? NO <br /> Normally the design engineer remains responsible for the adequacy of their design. THE <br /> COUNTY IS ASKING THE CA CONSULTANT TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ISSUES <br /> THAT ARISE DUE TO A LACK OF CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT, BUT STILL EXPECTING <br /> THE ORIGINAL DESIGN ENGINEER TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTUAL DESIGN <br /> FLAWS THAT WERE NOT DETECTED BY THEM OR THE STATE <br /> 8. Under Owners responsibility.—Will the county provide reproducible sealed plans and <br /> specifications that can be used to construct the project by the construction administration <br /> Engineer? YES, THE SEALED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AS DESIGNED BY THE <br /> ORIGINAL DESIGN ENGINEER <br /> 9. We repeat "Revise drawings as necessary to reflect specific minor details prior to beginning of <br /> construction or during construction, e.g. minor manhole location shifts and additions, deletion <br /> or shifting of service lateral locations, etc." under 4.
