i
Project Management Approach
McGill Associates'construction administration program is experienced and well organized, with a long and successful record of performance.
We have served in the past and are currently serving clients with Construction Phase services on projects designed by other engineering firms,
including the City of Hickory's$20 million Northeast Wastewater Treatment Plant. We understand the role and responsibilities of the original
project design engineer,as well as our role during the remaining phases of the project.
Because we have designed numerous similar successful projects in North Carolina over our firm's 27-year history, our design team is fully
capable of quickly value engineering the project, reducing the number of potential change orders and claims during construction. We
understand that our role is not to redesign the project. We also understand that unforeseen conditions can arise during construction and slight
modifications may become necessary. Our design team will respond quickly to those issues reducing the potential for delays in construction.
Other considerations that make the McGill Associates team unique and well qualified for this opportunity are the extensive capabilities of our
in-house staff. The depth and breadth of qualifications we possess internally is extensive. For projects such as this one,two factors that
are critical to project success are the electrical related components and funding/reporting requirements. McGill Associates has experienced
electrical engineering professionals on hand to address any electrical concerns that may arise. We also have a team of funding eligibility and
grant administration experts on staff to ensure that funding and reporting milestones are not missed and requirements are met on time.
The Senior Project Manager we have selected to oversee this project, Doug Chapman, PE,has significant experience with the layout, design,
permitting, biding, construction and operation of wastewater collection and conveyance systems.Mr.Chapman's experience uniquely qualifies
him for this project, and he has been an asset for our clients on similar projects, throughout the analysis, construction and commissioning
phases of their projects.
McGill Associates is excited about the opportunity to work
with Orange County on this project and is prepared to begin
as soon as the contract has been signed and approved by
the Orange County Board of Commissioners.
Based on our current understanding and knowledge of the
project,we anticipate being able to review and certify the
design in 30-60 days of authorization to proceed.
S
F S •-
s#
Confidential and Proprietary I Central Efland/Northern Buckhorn Sewer Extensions-Construction Phase Services,RFQ No.376-5176 0 24
