30 <br />Appendix 1 <br />Space Utilization Questionnaire Summaries <br />In August of 2013, a survey was submitted to Orange County department directors to gather <br />information regarding their department's space requirements. <br />The information that follows is taken directly from the survey forms, organized by <br />department /agency. <br />Department on Aging <br />3 -5 Years <br />• The senior population will continue to grow, as well as the demand for services, thus <br />needing more space. <br />5 -10 Years <br />• More space will be needed to offer a variety of services as seniors are living longer. <br />Serving clients ages 55 -105 requires diversity in programming and needs, thus the need <br />for more programming space. <br />Central Orange Senior Center Specific <br />1. Not enough drop -in space for seniors. <br />a. Enclose patio <br />2. Two existing entrances make evening security an issue. <br />3. Some employees are having physical issue due to poor ergonomics. <br />4. There is no designated conference space -must use program space. <br />5. No designated break room for staff. <br />Seymour Senior Center Specific <br />1. Do not have enough space for temp staff or interns. <br />2. The Wellness Center needs to be expanded as soon as possible. <br />3. Some employees are having physical issue due to poor ergonomics. <br />4. They are using their conference room for program space. <br />5. There is inadequate storage space. <br />6. There are no designated break areas for staff. <br />Animal Services <br />Aside from some minor work flow problems, there are no major issues. <br />3 -5 Years <br />• There will probably be a shift to have more electronic files and more online access to <br />things such as applications, forms, and ads. <br />5 -10 Years <br />
