There are full size gym spaces available to rent from the school <br />system, but the level of charges are cost prohibitive. It was stated that the use charges need to <br />reflect a rate that members of the community could afford. <br />o Option (which was originallpresented at the last meeting was reviewed again as a potential option <br />just for the G <br />■ An expanded Gymnasium is provided and the roof is raised to provide 20' -0" clearance over the <br />court. <br />• The basketball court would be full width (50� but not full length (68' -0'�; a regulation <br />high school court is 84' -0" long. <br />• It was stated that no bleacher seating was being provided in the new gym, but the width <br />could be increase to accommodate bleachers. <br />• It was stated that the architect had reviewed raising the roof with a structural engineer <br />and based on the information that they had provided it would be less expensive to <br />remove the existing roof and provide a new roof with new supporting structure. <br />• This new gymnasium could still be provided with access to the existing stage. <br />• The cost of expanding the gymnasium and raising the roof will be $180,000 - $200,000 <br />• The existing south wing with the smaller classrooms would remain but be mothballed. <br />• The existing north classroom wing will be removed to allow the gymnasium expansion to be <br />built. <br />• There was some discussion on the possibility of doing the enlarged gym and leaving the existing <br />wing in place and it was stated that this could not be achieved within the budget. <br />o Option "Al" (which is a revised version of Option "A" presented at the last meeting <br />• The existing Gymatorium remains in place and the roof is not raised. <br />• A folding partition is added to the front of the stage to allow this space to be used both as a <br />Stage and a Classroom. <br />• Handicapped access to the stage would be provided by a wheelchair lift. <br />• A separate office for a facility manager has been added <br />• The existing wings remain but are mothballed. <br />• New group toilets are provided in the same location as the existing toilets but are enlarged, made <br />handicapped accessible and provided with exterior access. <br />• The existing library becomes a recreation room. <br />• Internet Cafe is provided adjacent to ceremonial front door by removing a portion of the <br />existing masonry walls to create a large open space. <br />■ Wireless internet is to be provided thru -out the entire building. <br />• A Conference Room is provided adjacent to Internet Cafe <br />• The existing breezeway between the existing main building and the Dining Room would be <br />enclosed and made into a Lobby /Corridor <br />• A new Kitchen is created in the west half of the existing kitchen area. <br />• The Kitchen is provided with direct access to the Large Group Meeting Room with a <br />pass thru window with counter top and roll up door. <br />• The existing dining space is subdivided into three spaces, a Large Group Meeting Room, Small <br />Group Meeting Room and Classroom. <br />There are operable walls provided between all of the Large Group meeting Room and <br />each of the adjacent spaces so that can be opened up into one large space.
