Informal Resident Advisory Work Group <br />Cedar Grove Community Center <br />July 30, 2013 <br />Page 4of5 <br />17 <br />Lori indicated a smaller office could be adequate for the current needs if the storage <br />were accommodated. <br />• The possibility of the larger office becoming a conference was discussed. <br />■ The majority of the group agreed that a Kitchen was needed. <br />It was stated that this Kitchen should be a warming /catering Kitchen and require the <br />following elements: <br />• Large refrigerators <br />• Ice Machine <br />• Lots of counter space <br />• Storage for large hot trays from caterers or Golden Corral <br />• Multiple 4- burner residential stoves <br />• Dishwasher (commercial versus large residential) <br />■ The group was reminded the septic limitations would not allow for a <br />commercial dishwasher. <br />o Pass thru window to Gym and Cafeteria <br />■ The technology /computer center was discussed <br />• It was stated that wireless connectivity needed to be provided thru -out the entire <br />building. <br />• There is a need for a computer center accommodating 5 -7 computer work stations in <br />the facility. <br />o The use of lap tops would be preferred for flexibility. <br />o The computer center should include the following elements: <br />■ a projector and projection screen <br />■ printers <br />■ fax machine <br />■ copier /scanner <br />■ video conferencing capabilities <br />• John Thomas explained the data infrastructure (conduit, outlet boxes and wiring) would <br />be in the contract but the equipment would not be in the building contract. <br />• The group discussed entry into the facility and what would constitute the "front door ". <br />• It was noted by the former students that the door facing Highway 86 was not the entry for <br />students when the building was a school. <br />• It was stated that there may end up being a "ceremonial' front door on Hwy 86 and an <br />functional front door adjacent to the Cafeteria that is used on a daily basis. <br />• John Thomas suggested the existing covered walkway adjacent to the gym should be enclosed so <br />that the building users did not have to go outside to enter the Cafeteria. <br />• The group suggested the toilets be provided with an exterior access that would allow use during outdoor <br />programs without having to grant access to entire building. <br />• The Architects will have sketches of potential development options for review at the next meeting. <br />The group discussed the "memorial' aspect of the project. <br />o It was noted that the county cultural resources coordinator Peter Sandbeck is working on this with a sub- <br />committee. <br />o The following elements have been stated in the pastas being important <br />■ Allowing the physical elements remain <br />
