No
ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT:
PAM JONES, ext. 2650
Proposal
Telephone Number-
Hillsborough 732-8181
Chapel Hill 967-9251
Mebane 227-2031
Durham 688-7331
PURPOSE: To consider approving a contract with Trigon Engineering for testing
services associated with the Southern Human Services Center construction project.
BACKGROUND: This agreement will provide for testing services associated with the
aforementioned project for work, to include, but not limited to, field and lab services to
test adequacy of structural fill, proofrolling of soil subgrades, foundation subgrades,
concrete testing, base and paving tests, structural steel tests, roof deck inspections and
mortar and grout testing. Testing services are typically the responsibility of the project
Owner and to ensure, to the extent possible that they are objective and free of bias, are
performed by a contractor hired directly by the Owner. A breakdown of the proposal
submitted by Trigon is attached. This is an anticipated expense of the project and has
been included in the project budget.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the agreement with Trigon
Engineering Consultants, Inc. be approved in amount not-to-exceed $22,652.75; and
authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the appropriate paperwork.
