No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> PAM JONES, ext. 2650 <br /> Proposal letter <br /> Telephone Number- <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the professional services of Gary Merritt, PE for specifications <br /> and construction documents necessary for the replacement of the heating and air system <br /> in the Court Street Annex. <br /> BACKGROUND: The heating and air conditioning systems in the Court Street Annex <br /> is obsolete, inefficient and requires intense maintenance. The system is old and <br /> inefficient. In addition, a unit is located in an interior hallway on the upper floor of the <br /> Annex and leaks, thereby causing damage to areas below. The services offered through <br /> this agreement will provide the analysis necessary to recommend a new system, the <br /> documents necessary to bid the project, as well as construction inspections as needed. <br /> The cost for engineering services is $6,000. The project's construction is funded through <br /> the CIP. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the use <br /> of services of Gary Merritt, PE for a sum of $6,000; and authorize the Purchasing <br /> Director to execute the appropriate paperwork. <br />
