Auction to be <br /> held Saturday, October 19, 1996 at the Public works Department <br /> located on Highway 86, Hillsborough. <br /> And to adopt a resolution authorizing the Director of <br /> Purchasing and Central Services to dispose of surplus property <br /> of minimal value during the year. <br /> BACKGROUND: General Statute 160A-270 (b) requires this procedure to dispose <br /> of surplus personal property. <br /> Quotations were solicited from local auctioneers with <br /> Crawford' s Auction Service submitting the lowest responsible <br /> fee (2 . 5%) . A tabulation of the results is enclosed. <br /> Funds generated from the sale of surplus personal property <br /> goes to Orange County. Funds for the sale of abandoned and <br /> confiscated property is to be evenly divided between the two <br /> school systems after deducting for expenses, as provided in <br /> the North Carolina Statutes . <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends the Board accept the resolutions . <br />
