R <br />Library DRAFT Strategic Plan <br />2013 -2016 <br />Presented September 12, 2013 <br />For Board discussion and feedback, in preparation of proposed adoption at next <br />available Board meeting <br />Plan Overview <br />• Purpose: <br />- To set the direction of and inform future library planning in a <br />higher -level framework <br />• Time Frame: <br />- Fall 2013 through July 2016 <br />• Evaluation: <br />- Peer library comparisons using state and national data <br />- Surveys and feedback from staff and community <br />- Full evaluation to be completed for commencement of future <br />planning in 2016 <br />Building on Our Strengths <br />Community Needs Assessment results commended the library in four areas: <br />Staff Funding Facilities Programming <br />FY 2012 -13 OCPL Statistics <br />■ Operational Budget: $1,790,445 (an increase of 14% since 2010) <br />■ Circulation: 444,261 items borrowed (an increase of 64% since 2010) <br />■ Registered Customers: 29,573 (an increase of 9% since 2010) <br />■ Annual Programming Attendance: 8,746 residents (an increase of 13% since <br />2010) <br />■ Annual Number of Library Visitors: 198,240 (an increase of 12% since 2010) <br />- Aligning the Plan with Community Priorities <br />Aligning the Plan with Community Priorities <br />OCPL Strategic Priorities <br />1.
