The State has awarded the Soil and Water Department an additional $2,000. These funds will be <br /> used to provide educational projects and small equipment. No additional County funds are <br /> required for this department to receive these funds. (see block#1, page 3.) <br /> Health Department <br /> 2. The Personal Health division has received a Community Nutrition Promotion grant in the <br /> amount of $24,800 from the State. These funds will be used to provide nutrition education <br /> focusing on cancer prevention to school children and adults who live in the northern communities <br /> of the County. Current authorized positions will implement this project; therefore, no additional <br /> full time equivalent positions are related to or authorized through this grant. The attached <br /> Community Nutrition Promotion Grant Project Ordinance reflects the receipt of this grant. <br /> 3. The Environmental Health division has received $1,500 in unanticipated funds from the State. <br /> These monies are reimbursement for staff time required to inspect 20 summer food service <br /> program sites for children located throughout the County. (see block#3,page 3.) <br /> Orange County Library <br /> 4. The Town of Hillsborough has awarded the Library a tourism grant of$1,600. These funds will be <br /> used to off-set costs associated with Native American Day sponsored by the Library. No County <br /> match is required for receipt of these funds. (see block#4,page 3). <br />
