COPS FAST/2 Universal Hiring Program <br /> Grant Project Ordinance <br /> Project Number 11-715 <br /> Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of <br /> Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the COPS FAST Program as awarded to the Orange County <br /> Sheriffs Department by the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing <br /> Services.This award represents a second award from the U.S. Department of Justice for the <br /> community oriented policing services. The three year grant provides funding to further <br /> enhance community oriented police efforts in jurisdictions with populations of less than <br /> 50,000. <br /> Section 2. Under the terms of the agreement, Orange County will administer the grant as fiscal agent. The <br /> officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within the grant <br /> document,the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented <br /> Policing Services. <br /> Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br /> Intergovernmental 0996-97) $50,000 <br /> Intergovernmental 0997-98) $50,000 <br /> Intergovernmental 0998-99) S50,00 <br /> Total Intergovernmental $150,000 <br /> Section 4. Approximately seventy percent of the total cost of this project is funded by grant funds. The <br /> required match for this grant is included in funds appropriated in the general fund to be <br /> transferred to this capital project. Future years'allocations are subject to Board of County <br /> Commissioners annual appropriations. <br /> Transfers from the General Fund (1996-97) $18,442 <br /> Transfer from the General Fund (1997-98) $21,367 <br /> Transfer from the General Fund (1998-99) 523.409 <br /> Total General Fund Match $63,218 <br /> Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br /> Public Safety- COPSFAST-2 $213,218 <br />
