13
UNC-CHAPEL HILL PLANNING PANEL
FOURTH INTERIM REPORT
RESPONSE TO DRAFT PLANS FOR THE HORACE WILLIAMS AND
MASON FARM TRACTS
June e 17, 1996
Introduction
The UNC-Chapel Hill Planning Panel would like to extend its appreciation for the opportunity
to participate in this collaborative long-range planning process with the University. We feel
comfortable that the University's needs will be met and that the community's concerns will be
satisfied with the development of the Horace Williams and Mason Farm tracts.
The Planning Panel believes that the University has listed carefully to community concerns and
has incorporated them into the draft land use plans. We are very impressed with the draft
plans that were presented by Johnson, Johnson and Roy on May 23 and, again, appreciate the
opportunity to provide comments.
This report offers a few comments and recommendati ons on the most recent draft land use
plans. We hope that the Council will endorse our recommendations and that the University
will consider these comments as it completes final plans for these properties. .
We look forward to receiving the final land use plans for the Horace Williams and Mason
Farm tracts in the fall.
