Plan irrigation patterns and/or program irrigation control <br /> systems to meet the needs of the plant materials in order to <br /> minimize overwatering. When feasible, use modern irrigation <br /> technologies that provide highly efficient water usage. Inspect <br /> systems regularly for leaks and monitor water usage. <br /> 3. Water at appropriate times to minimize evaporation and reduce <br /> the potential for disease. <br /> 4. Consider converting to effluent irrigation systems when <br /> available, economically feasible and agronomically and <br /> environmentally acceptable. <br /> 5.
