Orange County Emergency Services <br /> Goals and Objectives <br /> In order to fulfill its mission, Orange County 9-1-1 has identified two major goals for the years <br /> 2013 through 2017. These goals with their accompanying objectives are realistic and <br /> measureable. Completion of the goals will enable the program to build upon prior <br /> achievements by strengthening Orange County 9-1-1. <br /> Goal A: Enhance the quality of the Orange County 9-1-1 answering system to ensure that all <br /> citizens of and visitors to Orange County, North Carolina have access to public safety services <br /> that are reliable, redundant, secure and diverse. <br /> Objective 1- Ensure current radio systems and equipment are approved systems by the State. <br /> Ob <br /> 'e ctive 2-Adapt to the State transition to P25. <br /> Obiective 3- Ensure technology used is capable of using Next Generation features. <br /> Objective 4- Maintain a routine maintenance schedule and replace equipment as it nears ends <br /> of life. <br /> Goal B: Enhance dispatcher capabilities to more effectively process incoming reports. <br /> Objective 1- Increase staffing of the 9-1-1 communications center from seven to eleven <br /> positions. <br /> Objective 2-Acquire additional equipment to increase staffing capabilities. <br /> Objective 3- Expand the Priority Dispatch System. <br /> Objective 4- Increase redundancy in dispatch systems through additional options in case of <br /> system failure. <br /> Long-Term Technology Plan Page 3 <br />
