The additional responsibility for overseeing the administration of the Civil <br /> Rights Ordinance and related human rights programs has increased the <br /> level of responsibility and scope of work performed by the Director. In <br /> recognition of the changes in the Director's responsibility, it is <br /> recommended that: <br /> The class title be changed from Director- Commission for Women <br /> -to.*Human R4ghts�-and.Relations.Dirzctor.xo.reflect the current <br /> duties of the position as department head for the Human Rights and <br /> Relations Department. <br /> Salary grade assigned to the position be changed from salary grade <br /> 70 to salary grade 74. This salary grade is recommended based on <br /> the responsibility assigned and comparison with other department <br /> head positions. It also is consistent with available labor market <br /> salary information for comparable positions. <br /> The attached class specification has been updated to reflect the changes in <br /> duties assigned to the position. <br /> Upon approval of the recommended change, the position of Director- <br /> Commission for Women at salary grade 70 will be reclassified to Human <br /> Rights and Relations Director at salary grade 74. Funds to implement the <br /> classification and pay change are available within the 1995-96 budget. <br /> Recommendation: The Manager recommends the Board amend the Classification and Pay <br /> Plan by changing the class title and salary grade of the Director- <br /> Commission for Women at salary grade 70 to Human Rights and <br /> Relations Director at salary grade 74. <br />
