To review what has been done to implement the Rabies Prevention Program, what we <br /> are working on now, and to assess our state of readiness for rabies in Orange County. <br /> Background: <br /> The Rabies Prevention Program was approved by the Board of County Commissioners effective <br /> November 1, 1995. Included in the program is an educational component for elementary and <br /> secondary school classroom instruction by Animal Control Officers using a program developed by <br /> the State of New Jersey. Features include: <br /> • A 10 minute video. <br /> • Teacher's guide and instruction booklets. <br /> • Reproducible exercises and handouts. <br /> • Separate programs for elementary and secondary levels. <br /> • 1-2 hour programs for elementary and secondary levels. <br />
