Organizad in 1981 by four churches OCIM now has 40 member <br /> congregations. Its purpose is:"To minister to the urgent needs of citizens of Orange County <br /> through the volunteer efforts of diverse congregations and individuals inspired by faith in God, <br /> and to enhance self-suff dwxy w d awareness of commaumty remitm"We wO*in dose <br /> cooperation with our mernbar clergy, the Orange County Department of Social Services, Health <br /> Department,and the Orange County Schools,assisting persons who have no other resources <br /> available. <br /> OCIM is s mainstay in the northern Orange County community,as we are the major <br /> source of assistance to the needy and to those who have fallen through the cracks of social aid. <br /> OCIM's primary gals arc to reach needy residents in our service area with emergemy food, <br /> dohâ–ºutility payment assWanm and shelter through our SanrtaFAW Relief Uldsvies and Meals <br /> on Wheels programs. A supportive <br /> community and dedicated volunteers Leers help us to accomplish our mission and to maintain our <br /> reputation for quick and compassionate responses to human needs in Orange County- <br /> In an effort to meet the growing needs of the poor.OCIM hopes to raise$550,000 for a <br /> new 10,000 square feet facilityâ–º. This building would allow OCIM to increase its service to the <br /> poor,support outreach efforts, and create an endowment to help secure OCIM's future.Between <br /> eight and ten percent of the$550,000 would be used for expanses,while the remainder of the <br /> fund:would go towards the actual concuuction and the creation of an endowrnant.
