In March 1996, the Manager <br /> submitted to the Board a set of proposed goals and objectives for 1996- <br /> 97 . The Manager requests that the Board provide specific direction on <br /> changes that it would like to make to the proposed set of goals . The <br /> Board' s guidance at this time will assist the Manager and staff to <br /> incorporate in the Manager' s Recommended 1996-97 Budget those resources <br /> required to accomplish the goals set out by the Board. Formal adoption <br /> of the 1996-97 goals could come at this, or a subsequent, Board of <br /> Commissioners meeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board provide <br /> direction on proposed 1996-97 goals so that required resources can be <br /> incorporated into . the 1996-97 budget; further, that the Board adopt the <br /> 1996-97 goals, or establish a timetable for their adoption. <br />
