No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> PAM JONES, ext.2650 <br /> ease Renewal <br /> Telephone Number- <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> RPOSE: To consider extending the lease for space used by the Health Department at Carr Mill <br /> II. <br /> CKGROUND: The County has leased space for the Health clinic facility at Carr Mill Mall since 1979. <br /> rt of the clinic will be relocated to the Southern Human Services Center(SHS)upon the completion <br /> that facility. The action taken by the Board will extend the Carr Mill lease through June 30, 1998, <br /> a which time a new lease will be executed for space allocated for the Dental Clinic.As the Board may <br /> r all, budgetary constraints precluded the inclusion of the Dental Clinic in the SHS. Although the <br /> bids for SHS received in March significantly exceeded the budgeted amount, negotiations are <br /> ongoing with the low bidder to determine what options may be available to the County. It is <br /> anticipated that the SHS completion date will closely coincide with the expiration of this lease <br /> renewal. <br /> The lease rate reflects a 2.5%increase over the 1995 rate. The rate increase for 1997-98 will reflect <br /> a CPI adjustment. <br /> All other terms and conditions of the lease remain unchanged. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve a lease renewal through <br /> June 30, 1998,for space to be used by the Health Department at Carr Mill Mall; and authorize the <br /> Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
