The Orange County Historic Preservation <br /> Commission since its formation in 1991 has reached several milestones in establishing a <br /> program of preserving the County's historic and archeological resources. <br /> The UPC has obtained grant funding to complete inventories of cultural resources,have a <br /> manuscript written so that Orange County's heritage may be published,and to produce the <br /> Historic Preservation Element of the Comprehensive Plan.In addition,two Orange County <br /> sites have been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.The HPC is currently <br /> working to propose a local historic landmarks program. <br /> Pat Dickinson was appointed in 1991 as one of the original members of the Historic <br /> Preservation Commission and actively served two terms. Her knowledge and experience in <br /> historic preservation proved to be a valuable asset to the Commission in their work during <br /> the inaugural years. <br /> A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends adoption of the Resolution of Appreciation for Pat <br /> Dickinson. <br />
