s <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS 2 <br /> • Stoney Creek Basin Small Area Plan <br /> The Stoney Creek Planning Group has spent the past year fulfilling its <br /> charge: "To prepare a land use plan, including recommendations for <br /> implementation, for the Stoney Creek Basin Planning Area southeast of <br /> the Town of Hillsborough." The group has prepared a draft land use plan <br /> based on two key goals: making sure landowners get fair value for their <br /> property; and protecting the area's "rural character." They have used the <br /> Flexible Development Options currently being considered for adoption <br /> as the basis for their implementation recommendations. <br /> • South Buckhorn Economic Development District <br /> The Board of Commissioners adopted as one of its goals for the 1995-96 <br /> fiscal year the possible expansion of the Buckhorn Road EDD to include <br /> area on the south side of I-85. The area proposed to be included in the <br /> EDD is bounded by Buckhorn Road to the west, West Ten Road to the <br /> south, I-85 to the north and the boundary of the Upper Eno Critical <br /> Area to the east, excluding an existing subdivision and mobile home <br /> park within that area. A proposal for the area on the west side of <br /> Buckhorn Road south of I-85 will be developed, after obtaining input <br /> from Mebane concerning cooperative planning efforts, and is tentatively <br /> scheduled for the August, 1996 public hearing <br /> ZONING ATLAS AMENDMENTS <br /> • Z-2-96 Neal and Betty Tapp <br /> The property owners have requested the rezoning of 4.75 acre-portion of a <br /> 28.46-acre tract from NC-2 Neighborhood Commercial to RB Rural <br /> Buffer. The property is bounded by 1-40 and Millhouse Road. <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> • Telecommunication Towers <br /> In response to concerns raised by citizens, advisory boards and the <br /> Board of Commissioners, a proposed amendment for telecommunication <br /> towers was presented for public hearing in November, 1995. Minutes of <br /> the public hearing are attached. After the public hearing, the industry <br /> representatives who spoke at the public meeting met with the Ordinance <br /> Review Committee. A revision to the original proposal is included in the <br /> attachments, along with a summary of the key changes. The proposed <br /> revisions require another public hearing. <br /> • Home Occupations <br /> The Planning Staff has proposed a comprehensive amendment to the <br /> home occupation regulations to addresses issues which have been raised <br /> is recent years, including impacts of some home occupations on <br />
