On April 16, the <br /> Board conducted a public hearing on the recommended CIP. A number of <br /> citizens spoke about school capital issues and possible funding for <br /> improvements to the Hargraves Center in Chapel Hill . The 1996-2006 CIP <br /> is scheduled for adoption on June 26, 1996 . <br /> During the past several years, the Board has taken time to review the <br /> overall recommended CIP over a period of several weeks, and has then <br /> identified to the Manager any specific projects that the Board feels <br /> requires more detailed discussion or deliberation. This discussion <br /> could entail possible changes in funding, timing, or scope of the <br /> various projects . Those project recommendations not specifically <br /> identified by the Board for further discussion have been incorporated <br /> into the CIPs that are adopted at the end of June. The projects <br /> requiring further discussion have typically been resolved during budget <br /> worksessions and likewise incorporated into the adopted CIP at the end <br /> of June . The Manager suggests that the Board undertake a similar <br /> review process for the 1996-2006 CIP at this meeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board indicate those <br /> recommended projects about which it needs additional information or <br /> which it otherwise may wish to consider for a different allocation of <br /> funds than that included in the recommended CIP. <br />
