THE TOWNS OF CARRBORO, CHAPEL HILL, HILLSBOROUGH <br /> AND ORANGE COUNTY <br /> ANNOUNCE A JOINT PUBLIC FORUM ON <br /> SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ISSUES <br /> Thursday, April 18, 7:30 p.m., Chapel Hill Town Hall <br /> Purpose: To provide an opportunity to hear and respond to citizens' and elected officials' <br /> concerns about solid waste issues. <br /> Agenda: Question and Answer Session (by categories) <br /> a. Solid Waste Management Goals Adopted by Orange County <br /> Governments <br /> b. Out-of-County and Regional Cooperation on solid waste <br /> management issues <br /> C. Landfill site search process, criteria and related issues <br /> d. Compensation related to landfill siting and development <br /> e. Alternative technologies <br /> L Other items <br /> Citizen <br /> Comments: Questions and statements will be limited to 3 minutes per person per category <br /> topic; the Owners Group is encouraging questions rather than statements. <br /> Citizens will be encouraged to sign up by topic category in order to ask a <br /> question or make a statement. <br /> Handouts: The following is a list of background handouts that will be available at the <br /> meeting. The handouts will also be available for review at Chapel Hill Solid <br /> Waste Management at 1099 Airport Road, Chapel Hill Library, Orange County <br /> Library and Carrboro Library by April 15th.
