4 <br /> Attachments'2 <br /> From the Current Orange County Personnel Ordinance <br /> ARTICLE III <br /> CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT <br /> 1.0 THL WORKWEEK <br /> 1.1 The standard work week shall be from 12 : 01 a.m. <br /> Amended Monday until 12 :00 midnight on Sunday, a time span of <br /> 1119189 seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. <br /> Exceptions may be granted by the County Manager in an <br /> effort to meet scheduling needs and be in compliance <br /> with the Fair Labor Standards Act . <br /> 1.2 The standard work hours shall be from 8 :00 a.m. until <br /> 5: 00 p.m. with one hour for lunch. Exception: Law <br /> Enforcement Officers and Emergency Services employees' <br /> work schedule shall be established by the respective <br /> department head and approved by the County Manager. <br /> 1.3 Full-time employees normally work five (5) eight (8) <br /> Amended hour days per week. Department Heads may elect to <br /> 3/5/89 establish for his/her employees a flexible work <br /> schedule to consist of a pre-determined schedule of <br /> nine consecutive hours between 7:30am and 6 :00pm, with <br /> one hour for lunch break each day, Monday through <br /> Friday. The first consideration in establishing a work <br /> schedule and in permitting any variation from it is <br /> providing adequate staffing to maintain County office <br /> hours of 8am to 5pm and the needs of the work unit . <br /> Consistent with that need, consideration should also be <br /> given to the needs and the preferences of the employee. <br /> With the approval of the Department Head a schedule <br /> will be established for each employee which provides <br /> for a 40 hour workweek. <br />
