Passmore, ext 2000 (1) Annual Resolution statement TELEPHONE NUMBER (2) Certifications/Assurances statement Hillsborough 732-8181 Chapel Hill 967-9251 Mebane 227-2031 Durham 688-7331 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PURPOSE: To authorize the annual resolution to apply for Federal Transit Act (FTA) , Section 18 capital and administrative funding as well as enter into an agreement with the North Carolina Department of Transportation for FY96-97 . BACKGROUND: Orange County Commissioners approved on December 19, 1995 an updated Transportation Development Plan (TDP) . The approved plan makes the Countyi eligible for federal and state funding of vehicles, equipment and administration requested in the document over a four year period. The FY96-97 annual Section 18 application is for $184 ,760 which includes $129,333 federal, $31,751 state and $23,676 local matching funds. Two replacement vehicles- a standard van conversion with rear lift and one 20 passenger van cutaway with lift, will be purchase with $80,750 of grant funds. In addition, administrative funds in the amount of $104,010 will support the overall O.P.T. Program and continue to emphasize general public ridership. The Orange County Transportation Advisory Board has approved the application on October 24, 1995 and will hold a public hearing on the application as part of its regular meeting on January 23, 1996.
