C , i <br /> • Tier 1 includes additional staff workspace and conference room space. <br /> Elemenetary and Middle School square footage included in this level of school <br /> facility is as follows: <br /> Elementary School - 2,660 square feet <br /> Middle School - 2,700 square feet <br /> • Tier 2 includes additional space for afterschool programs. For an elementary <br /> school, this includes additional storage to allow the regular classrooms to be used <br /> for the afterschool program. At the middle school, afterschool use includes an <br /> additional multi-purpose room and additional storage in the physical education <br /> area of the building. Elementary and Middle School square footage included in <br /> this level of school facility is as follows: <br /> Elementary School - 1,862 square feet <br /> Middle School - 1,620 square feet <br /> • Tier 3 includes all other space identified by the two school systems for inclusion <br /> in a school At the elementary level this additional space is primarily for <br /> additional storage, staff support areas and a student commons area. For the middle <br /> school the space identified in this level includes student project rooms, team <br /> meeting rooms, additional music rooms, additional storage, a video production <br /> laboratory and a larger student commons area. Elementary and Middle School <br /> square footage included in this level of school facility is as follows: <br /> Elementary School - 13,240 square feet <br /> Middle School - 17,199 square feet <br /> The tables on the next two pages summarize the Basic School square footage and the three tiers. <br /> Schools are to be constructed using materials with low maintenance cost and high durability. The <br /> life cycle of a school is expected to be a minimum of 50 years. Schools are to be retrofitted for <br /> technology.
