<br />Upon motion of Commissioner YJSlson, duly seconded by Commissioner Larrs and '

<br />the IJews of Orange County.
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Larrs, duly seconded by Commies loner V'fil son end

<br />located on the property of Orange County sitva tad on the Eest slde of Chur ton
<br />Street and on the South side of idargaret Lene 1n the Town of H111 sboro be sold.
<br />The conditions of the sale are as follows:
<br />1. The terms of the sale to be cash upon confirmation> and all bids must
<br />be accompanied by e deposit of either cash or a certified check in an amount
<br />equal to 15~ of .the bid.
<br />2. All buildings, structur@s, lumber, mate ri¢ls, debris, etc., must be
<br />completely and cleanly removed from the lot and within a per iod o_° forty days
<br />Srom the date of the contract of sale,
<br />3. A peri ormnnce bond with sufficient surety in the sum of One Thousgnd
<br />Dollars (01,000.00) rrlll be rewuired from the successful bidder anon the execu-
<br />tion of the contract.

<br />following resolution was unanimously adopted: ~
<br />Resolved: That 4Yherees,-the intersection of U. 5, Highway 70 and
<br />the St. Mary's Road, East of the Town of Hillsboro, has proved to be
<br />one of the most dangerous in Orange County, and that recently four auto-
<br />mobile collls ions have occurred at said intersection within a period of
<br />tlss^ee weeks resin t;ing in the death of one person and serious injury to
<br />another and also property damage; end
<br />That i'lho tea s, this Board is of the opinion t}~at there are not suf-
<br />ficient or adequate warning signs end devices et the said intersection
<br />end that immediate action should be tai<en by the 14orth Carolina State
<br />Highnay and Public Florks Commission to remedy the situation;
<br />How Therefore, the 3oerd of Commissioners of Orange County does -
<br />hereby respectfully request the 27 orth Carolina State Highway ¢nd Public
<br />^lorks Commission to, as soon as possible, consider this matter and to
<br />ta;ce measures which vrill give further protection to the trave111ng public
<br />on said High:vays at s¢id int~rsec lion.

<br />f ollorring resolution rres unanimously adopted:
<br />RESOLVPJ> That whore ¢s e farm of Orange County Superior Court for
<br />the trial of both criminal end civil cases is scheduled to convene on
<br />August 21, 1950; end
<br />V1iiEREAS, a term of the Sumer for Court of Oranro County fen the trial
<br />of civil cases is scheduled to convene on August 29, 19$0; and
<br />6'H~'REAS, the members of the Har of Orange County have petitioned the
<br />Board of Comunissioners o£ Orange County to ask for the cancellation of
<br />the said term of court set to convene on August 21y 1950, subject to the I~
<br />approval of Honorable ii. H. Pdur dock, Solicitor of she District, and have
<br />ne titioned the said Board to ¢sk for the cancellation of the term of court .-%
<br />set to convene on August 28, 1950, for the reason that very few cases
<br />of that civil or criminal could be disposed of at the said terms; and
<br />4'1f~REAS, the said ::. H. Lfurdock, Solicitor, has also requested that
<br />the term scheduled to convene on Auryust 21, 1950 be cancelled; and
