Centennial Theatre
A FACILITY OF THE NORTH VANCOUVER RECREATION COMMISSION
2300 Lonsdale Avenue,North Vancouver,BC V7M 3L1
Administration:604-983-6450 Fax:604-983-6463 Box Office:604-984-4484 1 s.center
November 14, 2011
•
RE: Recommendation Letter for Li Liu
Centennial Theatre presented Li Liu as part of our family matinee series on October 16, 2011.
Her one hour performance was filled with technically difficult circus skills that she did with
complete and quite breathtaking precision.
At one point during the show, Li invited some children onstage to practice with spinning
plates. Each child experienced success with the spinning and left the stage smiling.
During the performance, Li also spoke about her experiences growing up as a Chinese circus
acrobat and the need for continual training. The children and parents were awed with her
comment that she could sometimes train up to 10 hours in a day.
There was no indication during her show of the trouble she'd had the previous day with her
luggage and equipment getting lost during her travel to Vancouver. She had to drive to the
airport three times before finally retrieving all her luggage.
Li was a pleasure to work with and charming with our audience. Her performance was a
great start to our 2011/12 family series!
Sincerely,
Margo Gram
Cultural Services Coordinator
Centennial Theatre
